Introduction
This project story goes all the way back to my first day of college at Grand Valley State University. I was a freshman, getting my things moved into the dorm. There was a knock on the door. My two new neighbors were there to introduce themselves—Javi and Nolan. In that moment, I met two new friends.
Nine years later, I’ve had the honor of attending both their weddings and building lasting friendships.
Recently, I got a text from Javi. He wanted to grab a coffee and chat about marketing opportunities for his family business—M&A Tiling, a Michigan-based tiling company.
We met at Madcap, where I introduced Javi to Launch Kit’s seven-step marketing framework. Together, we assessed M&A Tiling’s current marketing and agreed that a professional website was the best place to start.
About M&A Tiling
Javi’s family started M&A Tiling in 2005 and built it into a thriving business with a crew of 40 local team members. Their reputation was so strong that they had grown entirely through word of mouth—without even having a website! Imagine the possibilities with an online presence. It was time to get to work.

Kickoff Workshop
Javi, Mike, Austin, and I sat down for a kickoff workshop to discuss M&A Tiling’s current business state and its goals for the next three years.
This conversation was crucial. By understanding where Javi and Mike wanted to take their business, Austin and I could shape marketing recommendations that aligned with their vision.
