Introduction

If you’re from the Rockford area, you know that Merrell isn’t just a global brand—it’s a local community staple. So, when PVK reached out to Launch Kit with an opportunity to collaborate on an upcoming video project for Merrell, we were beyond excited. As a video production company rooted in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we knew this was going to be something special.

Scope of Work

1. Videography - View Video Here -  Our task was straightforward: create a video introduction for Merrell’s Global Brand Conference, an event that brings together industry leaders from around the world. The focal point of the video would be an interview with Janice Tennant, Merrell's Global Brand President.

Global Brand Conference Videography

The shoot was scheduled to take place at Wolverine HQ in Rockford, Michigan. Nestled within Wolverine's campus is "The Den," a videographer's dream setup. It’s a versatile space that allowed us to create an ideal studio setup.

We arrived around 10:00 a.m., a few hours before our interview with Janice. This gave us time to set up lights, cameras, and the all-important teleprompter. Our goal was to create a clean, casual vibe that fit Merrell’s brand ethos. After experimenting with different seating arrangements, we landed on a simple, stool-style setup that kept things professional yet approachable.

By the time Janice arrived, everything was in place. She brought great energy to the shoot, delivering her message with ease and authenticity. We mixed in some behind-the-scenes b-roll footage to give the video a dynamic feel, including shots of the team setting up and, of course, showcasing a few of Merrell's signature shoes.

Once the footage was captured, our focus shifted to editing. Since this video was the introduction for the Global Brand Conference, we wanted to keep the tone straightforward and uplifting, with Janice’s message at the forefront.

Collaboration & Looking Forward

Working alongside PVK and the Merrell team was an absolute pleasure. It was one of those projects where everything just clicked—the location, the message, and the collaboration. We’re already looking forward to our next project with them, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll create together in the future.
